CONFESSIONS

Expanding Electra’s exploration of the boundaries of sacred, private and public spaces, Confessions اعتراف is an interactive, ‘live’ exhibition that transforms Takeover into a unique setting that acts both as the artist studio and as a space for sincere dialogues.

Inspired by the structure of the Confession Box - where physical separation provides a freedom and intimacy that can intensify human connection rather than isolation - participants are invited to come into the space alone and share thoughts, stories and sketches that hold strong emotional resonance. These ‘Confessions’ are then interpreted by Electra into new artwork that will be created in the same space. Each confession is private and will not be shared explicitly but, at the same time, this is an opportunity to release the hold you might have over any trapped feelings.

THE ARTIST

Electra Simon (b. 1994, London) is a British artist with Lebanese heritage. Her studio practice bridges art, design, storytelling and creative direction. Her work is driven by a deep interest in the human psyche, the threads that connect us across all cultures and the structures that mediate our behaviour.
