In reference to a room in a theater where performers wait before stepping onto the stage,

Green Room presents hints of forthcoming works by the artist beneath a shroud of fresh Tropaeolum leaves which will desiccate over time, interacting unpredictably with the objects below.

Engaging with the tension between control and vulnerability, presence and absence, the installation embraces latency and decay as an inevitable part of becoming.

Ieva Saudargaitė Douaihi is a Lithuanian-born Lebanese artist whose practice spans a broad range of media, including photography, installation, video, drawing and online interventions. Her work explores themes of urban life, cultural artefacts, identity, ecology, and loss. She studied architecture and grew up between Lithuania, Lebanon and the UAE. In 2021, she received the Boghossian Foundation Award for photography and the ADPP mentorship award. In 2022, she founded Takeover.
