Tupperware Dialogues emerged during her collaborative research project The Love Manual with Leen ElMobaddr and Pamela Hayek. It is our fifth Work Behind Glass. This piece featured a collection of Tupperwares that Leen gathered during her travels throughout the year. Each Tupperware, contributed by individuals from different places, was woven together using yarn, intentionally avoiding adhesives or external binding tools. This decision emphasized the natural gravitational pull of the objects to one another, starting off from a place of ambiguity and watching the pieces become structurally fastened to one another. The installation was further enriched by other elements, including love letters and phrases extracted from the performance, offering an exploration of love's multifaceted nature. The combination of routine objects and symbolic gestures created a dynamic and reflective visual narrative on love and connection. It was also important to question the semiology of the Tupperware in itself and what other meanings it can become.
Leen ElMobaddr is a multidisciplinary artist exploring movement, objects, and space, challenging the status quo meaning of daily rhythms and the environments we inhabit. Her work examines repetition, spontaneity, and memory, creating immersive experiences that invite new perspectives on the familiar.
